Meditation on Ashes

Ash Wednesday

2-2010

I close my eyes

against dust

pressed

into my forehead.

Close them

against the reality of death.

Yet Christ has conquered

death –

what shall I fear?

These:

actions and inactions –

the ways I bring death

in so many little ways

each day.

I fear this brokenness

in me

in you;

so I squeeze them

shut.

And all

can see

the ash

but me.

Ten Years!

It is beyond my comprehension that Jamie and I have been together for 10 years... but here we are.
I give thanks for every day.

I've switched around some space in order to hear better my creative muse (space? hearing? how do they go together? synesthesia! love that word!!! maybe that's my Muse's name? yes!).

Anyway, moved stuff around and played with other stuff and - voilá! second bedroom becomes my writing /creative space.
